Interface Overview

Clarity and Insight into Cancer Epidemiology, through One Easy-to-Use Interface

The EpicOncology™ interface gives you access to all of the Epic Modules: Epic Analyses, Epic Flow, and Epic Core. Plus key reference and supplemental materials, assumptions by cancer and country, a custom query feature, and a Discussion Forum for questions.

We designed the Epic interface for universal ease of use. According to our customers, we succeeded:

I know I keep saying this, but your interface is head and tails above the rest.  It’s so easy to use!

Let’s explore the Epic interface to familiarize you with all of its data analysis features.

The Interface

The EpicOncology™ user interface. Designed as an intuitive, easy-to-navigate toolset for analyzing cancer data sets.

As you can see, the Epic interface presents the data front and center. Option selectors make it easy to modify your view. Navigation tabs offer support material and communications.

Let’s go through each of the Epic interface’s elements in detail. In minutes, you’ll know how to locate and extract the cancer epidemiology data you need.

Navigation Tabs

Located at top right throughout the EpicOncology™ interface, the Navigation Tabs gives you immediate access to specific resources.

Epic

Your ‘Home’ page. Here you’ll always find Epic‘s cancer data sets, queries, flow diagrams, and assumptions.

Clinical

Provides access to the Epic Core (Survey) module.

References

Access support materials to assist in your research. Cancer definitions, data sources, methodology overviews…all right here.

Training

New to the EpicOncology™ platform? Browse the Quick Reference Guides. We also include data updates to Epic on the Training tab.

Discussions

An open line to Epiphany’s cancer experts! Ask us questions or request additional input…we’re happy to have a conversation. See the “Discussion Form” section below for more details.

Account

Your user account page. Change your password, edit your profile…all the administrative functions you’ll need.

Data Filtering

Cancer subsets, age groups, stages…you’ll need to filter all the Epic Analyses data to make it digestible! That’s why EpicOncology™ has a robust filtering system built in.

Create your own filters for our data tables using any of these variables:

  • STAGESWhich cancer stages do you want to see?
  • SUBSETSThe user can define which cancer subtypes are included in the data
  • GENDERSSharpen your results by targeting a particular gender (e.g., female gender is a "standard" filter for breast cancer).
  • AGE GROUPSRestrict to certain age groups (Under 20, 20-34, 35-49, 50-64, 65-79, and 80 and over). If you're restricting data down even further (e.g. 5-year age groups), use the Advanced Query function for finer control.

This example illustrates how easily you can filter “standard” data. In this case, we filtered breast cancer by late stage (Stages IIIA-IV), HER2-Positive Patients, All ages (Female gender is standard).

Custom Data Queries

What if the data you need lives in several different Epic Analyses data tables? No problem—build a Custom Data Query.

The Epic interface contains several custom query functions. Chief among them is the Advanced Query, a powerful drag-and-drop feature for creating 3-Dimensional datasets, and customize the data output for any of the available variables by cancer type.

The system allows you to save your custom queries as well. You can return later, update the query elements, and download the data again.

This example shows how the Advanced Query helps you assemble the exact EpicOncology™ data you want.

Supplemental Information

Need more information on the data sources? Looking for the available Newly-Diagnosed population? We’ve provided supplemental information in 3 categories:

  • AssumptionsView key assumptions by cancer and country (incidence rates, survival, relapse, progression, etc.). These underlying assumptions inject confidence into any model epidemiology.
  • DefinitionsRefer to both cancer-specific definitions (e.g., histologies) and statistical definitions (e.g., Available Populations).
  • SourcesDetailed listing of data sources for the Epiphany dataset.

Discussion Forum

Questions about a data set? Need help building a custom query? Post it to our Discussion Forum! We created the Discussion Forum to act as an open line, always-on line of communication between your company and ourselves. Every user in your company may send in questions or feedback at any time.

NOTE: To preserve your privacy, you’ll only see discussions posted by your own company’s users.

A Feature-Packed, Easy-to-Use Interface

See clearly into the future of cancer treatment. As you can see, the EpicOncology™ interface embodies the “clearly” in that statement.
